Wood and deck cleaning is done to remove green and black mildew, dirt, dust, bugs, webs, leaves and pollen. If your deck is painted, it is very common for some of the loose and chipping paint to come up during a cleaning, however, we will not be stripping the paint during the cleaning, only removing the organics.
If your deck is a composite or trex material, it will typically just be soft washed. If it it made of wood, high pressure will be used with the correct tips and in moderation.
*This service does not remove paint, tar, stains from mats or rust stains. Minor grain raise may occur in natural wood deck surfaces.
More questions about this service? Just ask!
A: If used incorrectly, high pressure absolutely has the ability to damage wood. We use the correct fan tips and processes to ensure nothing is damage in the cleaning process and all green and black mildew is removed from the surface of the wood.
A: In most cases, we apply a light mixture of bleach, soap, and water to loosen organic build up, followed by the use of high pressure to blast the remaining organic growth away.
We always recommend staining your wood after it is cleaned to keep it protected. We don’t offer this service in-house, but are happy to recommend great painters who can take care of this for you!
